This Cookie Policy explains how ONE Studios Ltd. ("LUCY," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit lucysounds.com, the LUCY web app at app.lucysounds.com, and the public link, profile and pre-save pages of LUCY artists, and use related services. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy. We handle cookies in line with applicable law, including the EU/UK ePrivacy rules and GDPR, Israeli privacy legislation, and the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended (CCPA/CPRA).
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you load a website. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, tags, and scripts that store or read information. They help the Service function, remember preferences, measure performance, and — where you consent — support marketing.
2. How we use cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Enable core functionality (e.g., security, load balancing, session management);
- Remember your settings and consent choices;
- Analyze traffic and usage patterns to improve the Service;
- Where permitted, deliver and measure advertising or marketing campaigns.
First-party cookies are set by us. Third-party cookies are set by service providers we use (for example, analytics or advertising providers) and are subject to those parties' own policies.
3. Categories of cookies
Strictly necessary: required for the Service to operate (e.g., security, authentication, load balancing). These are exempt from consent under most laws but are disclosed here for transparency.
Functional: remember preferences and improve usability (e.g., language, region, support widgets).
Analytics / performance: help us understand how visitors use the Service so we can improve it.
Marketing / advertising ("targeting"): used by us and our advertising partners (HilltopAds, Google AdSense and, in our apps, Google AdMob) to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure ad views and clicks, and detect ad fraud; and, where you allow it, to show ads based on your interests and activity across sites and apps. We show ads to Free-plan users, in LUCY Academy, and on some public pages to fund the Free plan (see Section 11 of our Privacy Policy). No ad or advertising cookie loads until you accept this category. Under California law, some of these may constitute a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (see Section 6).
4. Representative cookies and technologies
The table below groups cookies by category. The complete, current list of the individual cookies we use — each one's name, provider, purpose and duration — is published in our consent manager, which you can open at any time:
Specific cookie names and lifetimes change as we update the Service. Representative examples by category:
| Category | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
| Consent | Stores your cookie-consent choices | Up to 12 months |
| Session / essential | Maintains session and security state during your visit | Session |
| Functional | Preferences, support/chat widgets, embedded tools | Session to 12 months |
| Age question (session storage) | Remembers, for this visit only, that you closed the "are you 18 or older?" question, so it does not ask again until your next visit | Session |
| Analytics | Aggregated usage and performance measurement | Up to 24 months |
| Marketing / advertising — HilltopAds | Ad delivery, frequency capping (for example, how recently a pop-under was shown), measurement and fraud detection (with consent) | Session to 12 months |
| Marketing / advertising — Google AdSense | Ad delivery, personalisation where allowed, measurement and fraud detection (with consent); for example the __gads, __gpi and IDE cookies. See how Google uses cookies | Up to 13 months |
| Our own ad settings (local storage) | Remembers when an ad was last shown to you so we can space ads out; not shared with advertisers | Until cleared |
5. Your consent and choices
When required by law, we ask for your consent before setting any non-essential cookies, and such cookies are not loaded until you consent. Consent is granular — you can accept or reject cookies by category (functional, analytics, marketing) in our cookie banner.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by reopening the cookie preferences from our banner, where you can also review the full list of cookies in each category before deciding. You can also refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings (Section 7). Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how the Service works.
6. California rights & Global Privacy Control
If you are a California resident, you have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information that may occur through certain advertising or analytics cookies. You can exercise this by rejecting marketing cookies in our banner, using a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" control where available, or contacting us. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as an opt-out of sale and sharing: when your browser sends it, none of our ads, and so none of our advertising partners' cookies, load on our websites, in the web app or on artists' pages, whatever you chose in the banner. We do not sell personal information for money.
7. Browser controls
8. Our mobile apps
Our iOS and Android apps use software development kits (SDKs) and device identifiers rather than browser cookies for advertising. For Free-plan users, the Google AdMob SDK uses your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android) only as you allow it. On iOS we ask for permission under Apple's App Tracking Transparency first, and where the law requires it Google's consent form asks whether you agree to personalised ads. You can change these choices at any time in your device settings (iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking; Android: Settings > Privacy / Google > Ads, where you can also delete your Advertising ID). Web pages shown inside the apps follow the cookie banner as described above.
9. Artists' link pages
When you visit the link, pre-save or profile page (lucysounds.com/l/…) of an artist on LUCY's Free plan, LUCY (not the artist) decides which ads appear there and is responsible for the cookies set on that page. The page shows our cookie banner, and no ad loads unless you accept advertising cookies.
10. Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in technology or law. The "Last updated" date above will change when we do, and material changes may be communicated through the Service.
